Description
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Installations -Hoist qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification.
This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as an erector and dismantler within the construction industry.
This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.
Mandatory Units
– Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
– Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
– Installing Plant or Machinery for Operational Activities in the Workplace
– Dismantling Pre-installed Hoists in the Workplace
– Preparing and Operating Hoists During Installation Activities in the Workplace
The learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in two of the following optional units:
– Carrying Out Basic Maintenance on Installed Plant and Equipment in the Workplace
– Slinging and hand signalling the movement of suspended loads in the workplace
– Diagnosing Faults in Plant or Machinery Systems or Components in the Workplace
– Inspecting Plant or Machinery for Operational Serviceability in the Workplace
– Handing Over Plant or Machinery to the Control of Others in the Workplace
Entry Requirements:
All delegates must be able to demonstrate that they can meet the requirements/criteria of the qualification before enrolment and that they hold the relevant Red CPCS card.
All delegates must also have completed the CSCS Health, Safety & Environmental Test within the past 2 years.
How it Works:
We will book the course in with the course date showing as the date of booking. The training provider will then allocate an assessor who will contact the delegate within 48 hours to arrange the site visits for mutually suitable dates and confirm details.
Assessment:
The trainer will visit the delegate on site 2-3 times over several months to gather evidence of their competence whilst carrying out their day-to-day tasks. They will also provide a witness testimony, take part in a professional 1-1 discussion and have an observation of performance and inspection of work products.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the NVQ, delegates will be awarded with a CPCS Blue Competent Operators Card.
Duration:
The NVQ can take 2-6 months to complete depending on the level NVQ, number of site visits required and the administration process.
