Description
The CPCS A40 Slinger Signaller – Endorsement A qualification is designed for individuals with limited or no experience who want to learn to operate a slinger signaller. On passing the technical tests, the CPCS trained operator card (red card) is applied for on the candidate’s behalf.
Course content A40
- Establish the weight and dimensions of loads and communicate this information to the crane operator
- Select appropriate lifting tackle and attach and detach it correctly and safely
- Use clear and unambiguous signals to direct the actions of a crane moving loads of various weights and dimensions
- Determine the serviceability of lifting accessories, and maintain and store them.
The entry requirements for the CPCS A40 Slinger Signaller – Endorsement A course are as follows:
- Candidates must have passed the CITB Health, safety and environment test within the previous 23 months before the course start date.
- Candidates should have a good understanding of spoken and written English to effectively participate in the training.
Duration:
The CPCS A40 Slinger Signaller – Endorsement A course has a duration of 4 days.
This includes 3 days of learning through a mix of classroom-based teaching and practical exercises, followed by 1 day of assessment which involves CPCS technical tests.
