Description
The CPCS Crawler Tractor (A34 & 35) qualification is designed for individuals with limited or no experience who want to learn to operate a Crawler Tractor. On passing the technical tests, the CPCS trained operator card (red card) is applied for on the candidate’s behalf.
Course content A34 & 35
- The roles and responsibilities of a Crawler Tractor operative
- Principle components of the machine, the basic construction, controls and terminology
- Configuration for travel on site and across a range of terrains
- Configuration for excavating duties
- Pre and post use checks
- Shut down and securing procedures
- Loading and unloading procedures
- Hazards, underground and overhead services
- Manoeuvring in a range of spaces
The entry requirements for the CPCS Crawler Tractor (A34 & 35) course are as follows:
Candidates must have passed the CITB Health, safety and environment test within the previous 23 months before the course start date.
Candidates should have a good understanding of spoken and written English to effectively participate in the training.
Duration:
The CPCS Ride on Road Roller A31 course has a duration of 4 days.
This includes 3 days of learning through a mix of classroom-based teaching and practical exercises, followed by 1 day of assessment which involves CPCS technical tests.
