  • Get Your GQA Green CSCS Card – The First Step into a Safer Construction Career

If you’re starting a career in construction or working as a general labourer, the GQA Green CSCS Card is your essential entry point. This card proves you’ve met basic health and safety requirements and allows you to work legally and safely on UK construction sites.

At ACTC Way, we support individuals through the entire process, from training to card application, making it fast, simple, and stress-free.

🔔 Important Update – New Green Card Design

As of July 2025, the GQA Labourer CSCS Card has officially changed to green in line with CSCS industry standards.
This update brings full visual alignment with other CSCS-approved labourer cards, making it easier for employers and site managers to instantly recognise your qualification and role on-site.

🟢 What does the green card mean?

  • It confirms that you are qualified to work safely as a labourer.
  • The green colour clearly indicates entry-level access.
  • It’s accepted across UK construction sites where a CSCS Labourer Card is required.

The green design helps standardise access across all routes, ensuring your GQA-issued card is just as recognisable as the traditional CITB version.

What Is the GQA Green Labourer Card?

The GQA Green CSCS Labourer Card is issued by GQA Qualifications, an accredited awarding body recognised by CSCS. This route is a trusted alternative to the standard CITB route and is fully accepted on most UK construction sites.

Who Needs the GQA Green Labourer Card?

You need this card if:

  • You are working or planning to work as a general labourer.
  • You want to access construction sites legally in the UK.
  • You’re just starting in construction and need an entry-level qualification.
  • You want a fast and efficient route, fully supported and flexible.

How Do You Qualify?

To get the GQA Green Card, you need to complete two key steps:

1. Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Level 1 (GQA)

We offer this as online or in-person training with full support. It covers:

  • Site safety
  • Hazard awareness
  • PPE
  • Fire safety
  • Manual handling
    Assessment is simple and trainer-guided.

2. Pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for Operatives

This is a multiple-choice test taken at a CITB-approved centre. Don’t worry – we guide you on how to book and prepare.

Once both are completed, we apply for your GQA Green Card – valid for 5 years.

Why Choose the GQA Route with ACTC Way?

✔️ Fast-track training and card application
✔️ Online or face-to-face options
✔️ Multilingual support available
✔️ Accredited GQA centre
✔️ No hidden fees – all costs explained clearly
✔️ Help with future progression to NVQs & skilled worker cards

How Long Does It Take?

Depending on your availability and preparation:

  • Training: 1 day
  • CITB Test: scheduled within a few days
  • Card: issued after both parts are completed – typically within 7–10 working days
