Description
The 1b IPAF Static Boom/Spider Training course is suitable for anyone who operates Static Booms, including Spider booms on tracks or wheels, Van-mounted booms, Truck-mounted booms, or Trailer-mounted booms. This course is beneficial for all those in an organization who use, supervise, or manage the use of 1b Static Booms. It provides delegates with the essential knowledge required to operate these machines efficiently and safely.
Entry Requirements:
Candidates for IPAF courses must be at least 16 years of age. They must be medically fit to operate machinery.
Course Content:
The 1b IPAF Static Boom/Spider Training course covers the safe use of Static Booms, including Spider booms on tracks or wheels, Van-mounted booms, Truck-mounted booms, or Trailer-mounted booms. The course content includes:
- Introduction and pre-course theory test
- Understanding MEWP categories and structural parts
- Familiarity with regulations like ISO 18878, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR, WAHR, MHSW
- Pre-use inspection/handover
- Safe operating methods and hazards
- Theory test practical training
- Practical assessment
- Information on licence renewal & log books
- Course evaluation
The course aims to provide delegates with the essential knowledge required to operate 1b Static Booms efficiently and safely. The training methods include presentations with slides, videos, printed course material, demonstrations, and practical use.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the 1b IPAF Static Boom/Spider Training course, delegates will receive a 1b IPAF PAL (Powered Access Licence) Card, which is valid for 5 years, and an IPAF Certificate of Training for the 1b Static Boom category. They will also receive an IPAF safety guide and an IPAF log book on the day of training. Photographs for the operator card are taken on site and included in the price. This certification demonstrates that the delegate has the essential knowledge to operate 1b Static Booms efficiently and safely.
